That turquoise water of Lake Pukaki with Aoraki rising in the distance must be unforgettable. The Tasman Glacier hike and those 350 steps sound like a real adventure, but the views from the top look totally worth the effort. I also love your tip about stopping in Twizel and visiting Poppies café. This whole area of the South Island looks like a dream for a road trip.
